thanksgiving / updates!

so my former roommate kayla texted me and said that some of my my friends from messiah (whom i miss soooo much!) requested that i update my blog. i think the last time i updated was the beginning of the month so i think that this post is way overdue. but its okay cuz it'll give me more to write about! :) but where to start? ....

first off, i hope that everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!! mine was filled with family, food, fun, and false labor contractions!  the whole day i was on and off in pain/discomfort from braxton hicks contractions :(  but all in all, thanksgiving was great time with family, whom i am so thankful for!

we had thanksgiving at my house this year for 2 main reasons. 1) cuz i am getting to that point where i'm pretty much too pregnant to travel haha and 2) my little brother had a cochlear implant surgery (a cochlear implant is used to help him hear since he is hearing impaired) done on that Tuesday so he was still recovering.  everything went smoothly during the surgery and his recovery has been even better than his first surgery 3 years ago (he had his left ear done then and his right one done this time). he is such a brave/mature 12 year old and i admire his courage and strength.

if you were wondering whether or not i had the baby yet...he's not here yet, unfortunately, but we are definitely getting closer!! :) i am just about 2 weeks away from my due date (dec 13th!!) and i am hoping to give birth before then. the doctors won't let me go passed dec 20th (they'll induce labor before then) so either way i'll have a little baby boy before christmas!! :)

people always ask me how i'm feeling and for the most part i feel okay but pregnancy is definitely harder than everyone makes it out to be.  i'm not saying that i don't like being pregnant cuz sometimes its actually really amazing; especially when i can feel my little baby moving around (he's already a rambunctious little boy who loves to kick and punch me haha) or when he has the hiccups (its incredible that you can feel those!).  but other times it isn't as nice; its so hard to be comfortable and you literally feel like a whale! people have said that i don't look big but it's pretty hard not to feel huge when you can't walk properly anymore (its more of a waddle now).  and now that i'm so close to my due date i need to go to the doctors every week now until i deliver. but its literally the same routine every time: you wait in the waiting room, then they call back and ask you to "give them a sample" aka pee in a cup haha, then they weigh you (which is almost always depressing ha), take your blood pressure, then you wait for the doctor who lets you hear the baby's heartbeat (that's the one thing that never gets old), measures your belly, and finally asks how you are feeling.  then there's the braxton hicks contractions; i'd never thought that i'd want to feel real labor pains but after feeling braxton hicks contractions you want to be in real labor.  labor pains are a lot worse than braxton hicks, or so i've been told i'm not really sure since i haven't been in labor yet, but i can say that i can handle the false labor pains they are just super uncomfortable! i'd rather been in real pain, and know that i'm in labor and that soon i'll see my baby boy, than feel some pain/discomfort yet know that it could be days or weeks till actual labor kicks in.  i think that for me i feel like i've been pregnant forever, even though its only been 9 months, and i just want to meet my baby already! i can't wait to start this new chapter in my life as a mommy! :)

speaking of new chapters in life, my sister turned 17 on thanksgiving and took the test for her license...and actually passed!!! its so crazy to think that my little sister is 17! (well i guess its also crazy to think that i'll be a mommy in 2 and half weeks or less) but i was so proud of her when she told me she got her license; she had been practicing her driving skills like crazy and i even got the privilege of teaching her how to parallel park.  i'm also really happy she got her license so now i don't have to run all the errands anymore haha.
me and my sister on thanksgiving/her birthday :)

my belly is huge! haha

i am trying to get everything ready for the baby and part of that is finishing up the room. although he will be staying in the same room as me, i still decorated the room in a theme (the book "guess how much i love you" with the bunnies!!), with light sage green walls, and i have pretty much everything in place (his crib, dresser with clothes, changing pad, etc.) here are some pictures of the room/his stuff:
his changing area/dresser with cute "guess how much i love you" decals

the blue isn't his bedding but this is his crib

this is my favorite decal! i love this :)

something that i'll add to this post but probably post more on later when i take a decent picture is the color of my hair.  i dyed it on saturday.  for a year i was used to light brown hair with blondish highlights and i decided it was time for a change so i went to the salon and had my hairdresser choose the color.  i'm actually really happy with what she chose; she picked a medium brown color with red undertones to it.  i thought it was too brown at first but my sister insists that it is definitely red enough. like i said i'll try and take a decent picture of what it looks like and post it up on my next post, which i'm hoping won't be as overdue as this one was.  i'm going to post in the next day or two if i can (if i don't go into labor or something first haha).

this picture doesn't do it justice (or at least i don't think it does). its more of a red color
